I’ve been told… that the media is putting out fear mongering messages that support all vaccinations no matter what. They want us to fear Mr. Robert Kennedy Jr. The media & drug companies want you to think he will eliminate all vaccinations and global catastrophe will result. At least something to that effect. Many of us chiropractors welcome his ideas as very needed. Including his ‘food’ ideas.
First of all, vaccines are not made the same as they used to be. The original small pox vaccine was literal exposure to someone with a small pox blister they opened up and rubbed the puss on the skin of a healthy person. The concept is a small exposure to a disease to an otherwise healthy individual could result preventing that healthy person from getting really sick with that disease. Edward Jenner developed a safer method in 1809. This is when the first vaccine mandate law was passed.
In the 1940’s AND ‘50’s, good experiments and real research was done that was really valid. Here is what I see as the best example. During the polio epidemic, Dr. Jonas Salk tested, on children, a “dead” version of the polio virus. The virus was killed in formaldehyde, which made it safe to then expose it to a healthy person. The human immune system responded to the exposure by stimulating the thymus to create an army of ‘first responders’ that were more able to fight off polio, should the body be exposed to a “live” polio virus. People gathered in places like school gymnasiums all over the country to get this oral vaccine. A couple of drops in a sugar cube. I was less than five years old, and I do remember it. Polio became almost no threat at all in a very short time. Regardless, a scientist named Albert Sabin decided that wasn’t good enough. He noticed the virus could still infect the gut. The problem was that although it could not get into the spinal cord and lead to paralysis, the gut could continue to be a source spreading the disease. Sabin’s vaccine used a live virus but attenuated (weakened) it. After that, the spread of polio was pretty much eliminated in twenty-five years. Interestingly, I read that we went back to Salk’s dead virus because the weakened virus might mutate to a wild and strong version, and that a healthy, vaccinated person would get badly infected. Also, an immunocompromised person was more at risk to get this weakened live virus and become sick.
In the1980’s, pharmaceutical companies could not get insurance to cover their risky business of developing vaccines. They appealed to Congress and a very scary decision was reached: the government would make them “immune” to lawsuits. If we could trust people to not take advantage of this, all would be well. Dr. Salk was such an altruistic soul that he would not patent his vaccine. He wanted global acceptance and use of what he had developed. By then the epidemic of people suddenly becoming paralyzed in their limbs or their diaphragm was so wide spread and so frightening that asking people to come get a dose of the vaccine was no problem.
Before 1986 Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccines were developed. These diseases had been killing small children at an alarming rate. Pertussis (whooping cough) in a tiny infant often led to their death. These vaccines were truly studied and tested for safety and efficacy (effectiveness) in preventing a child from getting that disease. It was a very cost-effective way to prevent an illness and the damage it would cause when compared to not getting the vaccine and taking the risk.
With the threat removed of being sued for irresponsible presentation of a vaccine that might or might not be effective problems surfaced. By 1986, there were many law suits filed for damages that vaccinations seemed to cause. A National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program was enacted. In essence, this furthered the developers of vaccines an immunity to being sued. This is when strange new ideas for ‘stimulating the immune system’ started to be tried. Multiple vaccines were developed for any kind of problem they could think of, even things that are not life threatening. Then a market had to be found, because the fear of these less threatening problems was minimal. It turned out if you bribe a few politicians, you can make your vaccine mandatory. The government says taxpayers will pay for it. The schools force all children to get them. Safety is not really studied and efficacy is not even challenged. I have a chart that was produced by the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) that shows how little efficacy was studied. Then booster shots were recommended, but often it was not really studied for absolute necessity. The power to force people to use their product was often used in unconscionable ways.
Moreover, there are ingredients in these vaccines that are proven to cause nerve damage and brain disfunction. There are so many parents that are convinced the vaccine their child received lead to autoimmune disorders, asthma, autism, and other chronic illness’. Thimerosal has been identified as such a chemical. Chiropractors have complained for decades that research shows this mercury-based ingredient causes nerve damage. Including damage to the brain connections. The makers of the vaccines refuse to not use it. They say it is a preservative. I can’t believe they couldn’t find something else to do this. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) can be found online. It’s a place to guide parents who believe there has been a vaccine injury and want to file a petition. How much better that these problems are not promoted by vaccine mandates.
Don’t get me started on the craziness of using genetic material from aborted babies to put in an inoculation. To many of us this is forced cannibalism. Yet our objections are ridiculed and dismissed.
Other countries do not do employ the aggressive vaccination protocols that we do here in the USA. In Japan, it is recognized that a baby under one barely has an immune system to stimulate. If you keep giving it vaccines of four and six different diseases simultaneously to develop some immune reaction, it can’t do it. That part of the baby isn’t developed yet. Giving a child one disease exposure at a time is a lot safer and more likely to not be a problem. That, however, is inconvenient both for the typical working parent and the doctors. Doctors have told me they vaccinate that early because the parent is bringing the baby in for a well check-up and it’s convenient.
This is just one example of why most chiropractors are looking forward to Mr. Kennedy’s ideas to Make America healthier. Stay calm, take a deep breath. Maybe don’t listen to main stream media. They market fear.
